Does anyone know about this show? I googled and got links to not very good reviews. I'd really like to find out right after I find the person who made this video. WOE, I DO NOT SPEAK FRENCH.

Apparently it's my night for unexpected video discoveries. Too bad I'm going to bed.

I love how everything's more interesting with the addition of Paul. Can I just reiterate how much I adore that song?

Anyway, all I can find out about the show is that it was called In Justice, it was universally panned, and lasted around 5 minutes. Poor Kyle McLachlan... he needs to go back to being David Lynch's favourite boy, I think. :-)

It can't be reiterated enough. Dude. I love this song for itself The first time I heard it, I was all, OMGTHISISSOGORGEOUS. It's one of my very favourite songs. Also, if anyone says that Paul can't sing (he can, he just needs to do stuff in his range) I can link to this, because it's singer-songwriter stuff, not Amusing Fannish Music. It's annoying that David Hasselhoff had a hit single in the seventies and a gorgeous thing like this goes right under the radar.

I wish Dave Matthews knew about it so he could cover it. Nothing at all against the original, but Dave Matthews has a voice like liquid velvet and it would be a great match. Now if they recorded it together... No. That would probably kill me for good.

Poor Kyle McLachlan... he needs to go back to being David Lynch's favourite boy, I think. :-)

I should really watch Twin Peaks. Why didn't I? What was I watching in the 90s that made me miss all these good shows?

Love & Carnage as a whole is generally very impressive, IMO. I never play my copy of Two Houses (and I feel vaguely disloyal!) because pretty much the only song I'm willing to hear repeatedly is 32 Down, and that's because it's DS-related. The Two Houses music videos, though, completely make up for it. Because they're insane.

L&C, on the other hand, is totally brilliant - it's not even in a genre I'm enthusiastic about, and I still love it. Even Jerusalem, which is either quite moving or insanely cheesy, depending on one's mood. *g* I've got a none-too-quiet fondness for David's singing, too, I have to say. ::happy sigh::

LOL, don't worry - I have a persistent fantasy of Paul covering The Headstones' Tweeter and the Monkey Man. I think I would die of pure shiny joy were THAT to occur. :-)

Oh! Yes! Watch Twin Peaks! As an impressionable teenage girl that show totally broke my brain, and the result is the woman you read before you today. Absolutely astonishingly brilliant television. Deeply weird, but no more than the rest of Lynch's work. IF you can find it (season 1 and the prequel movie are out on DVD; the rights to season 2 are still being fought out, and its release has thus far been delayed five years - I'd try the video store for tapes), I highly recommend you give it a shot.

I never play my copy of Two Houses (and I feel vaguely disloyal!) because pretty much the only song I'm willing to hear repeatedly is 32 Down, and that's because it's DS-related.

I have a dorky love for "Ride Forever", but I don't listen to the one from the album. I like the DS Soundtrack version better, so it's probably a DS fannish thing. 32 Down is the first DS related song I heard, I downloaded it right after I saw MOTB for the first time, for no real fannish reason other than I love Celtic-ish music. I knew nothing about it other than it sounded good really, really loud. And still, I play the soundtrack version, for the dialogue at the end.

I really like "Blind Man," I think it's got great lyrics (what other country song has the word "reprobate"?). Also "Desert and Rain", but I have to be in the mood for it. "After the War" is one of the most boring songs I know. It's a textbook country song (I grew up with country music. This is generic). No imagination.

Oh, it's the better album, absolutely. I wish I could glom on to "Blame it all on Nashville", because the idea of the type of song my mother calls "shit-kickin' music based on the text of Hamlet is just fecking brillant. It's unfortunate that I pretty much hate it. *headdesk* Fortunately, though, there's "Clouds" to make up for it. Lyrically, it's fantastic. The (most likely completely unconscious) irony of "you know that I miss your mouth" coming from that mouth. "I need you in the darkest way"? *shivers*. And the Random Ilian Gonzalez reference, which is just a complete geekout for me. Did I mention I love this song?

Also "Paris", which has no genre. I wouldn't know how to classify it. "Songs that start out with consonant porn" isn't a category I've heard at the Grammys", so, um. Again with the brilliant lyrics. "If Jesus left his thumbprint on the artificial marble, how come we have no forgiveness for the ones who've lost their way." Fecking gorgeous.

The brilliance of "Family Matters" has me convinced that "After the War" was written by a pod person (Seriously, this one's in my top ten favourite songs). I still can't figure out why they didn't use it for marketing instead of the ones they did pick. Tie-ins with DS, yes, but that doesn't explain "Voodoo" (which I didn't like at first, but it's grown on me. Jury's still out on the video).

I've got a none-too-quiet fondness for David's singing, too, I have to say. ::happy sigh::

OMG, yes. David is the love child of Marty Robbins and Chris Isaak. He has an amazing voice. How beautiful is "Cherry Beach" (the very first song I heard from this album)? "Kickin' His Shadow" is exactly the kind of country song I love. I don't like much contemporary country, except stuff out of Western Canada, but this song is an old-school song brought back. "Holy Love" is glorious. "I'll fly like a fugitive from the remnants of Providence". Oh, yes.

The thing about these guys is that David sings and writes David, at least IMO. He doesn't try to fit into a genre because he's a musician and he sings what he sings. When Paul writes like he's from Alberta and not Nashville and doesn't try too hard to be a Country Singer (don't get me started on the lyric about pulling a Jefferson out of his pocket, wtf?), what comes out is pretty amazing (or in the case of "Family Matters", fucking brilliant).

I can only deal with a couple of the videos. The others I either have to watch with my hands over my eyes and peek out through my fingers. I love "32 Down", because it's not too dorky, so I can watch it, and it has Paul's kids in it, which is just so awww-worthy that I want to bake them all cookies.

Hmm. Could work. *g* It would be a cover of the Headstones covering Dylan. Could be cool (I'd love to hear what Hugh would have to say about it). I'd like him to cover Neil Diamond's "Stones". Honestly, just listen.

What they really need to do is to get back and record something. Especially David Keeley (who could cover Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" and dedicate it to me).

I knew it was brilliant when it was first broadcast, I dunno what happened. I must have been watching something else. :/ I'll definitely get to see it, though. It's on my list, which seems to keep getting longer.

The show was pretty bad. I like Kyle too, but this was a rather desperate vehicle for him to latch on to.

Really weird use, IMO. There's no connection to the clips. Maybe if I knew the plot of the story. *shrugs* It was just so random I was all, *boggle*, because I was just randomly surfing YouTube, then went to Daily Motion for something else entirely, and got this. Daily Motion's code is different, so I couldn't imbed, so I found it at YouTube (I know you were on the edge of your seat wanting to know this).

I have one CD, but both on my HD. 'Family Matters' should have had airplay, dammit. Maybe it did in Canada? And I repeat. Dave Matthews would do a great cover. It sounds like a DMB song.

I don't think that any of the songs were released, with the exception of maybe 'Ride Forever', due to its use on the show. At least that is the one I've seen him perform (in clips from shows from his cbc bio).

I have Two Houses on CD and I'm getting a new CD/DVD burner to replace my broken one, so I Have The Technology. But thanks for the offer. :) Besides, I pick and choose the songs from those, because some are better than others. I love David Keeley's voice (how gorgeous IS "Cherry Beach"?), so I've got a few of those on my iPod.

I'm an autograph hound only about books. I have a copy of Good Omens autographed by both authors. *loves* I tend to lose CD cases. *g*

Actually, Paul was wise and signed the inserts :) and not the cases (unlike James Marsters who stupidly signed the case of a cd I bought - idgit).
