Wait. Most people see the dancer in this image going anti-clockwise? And they can make her change direction?
Obviously, I'm way right-brained. But then I knew that. But seriously, woah. It's no wonder I have no sense of direction whatsoever.
Also,
meresy and
nos4a2no9, we must talk dinner and things!
mr_t00by and I will be in Toronto on 7/27 or thereabouts.

Date: 2008-07-17 05:42 pm (UTC)Until just now. I stared at her head for a bit, and then relaxed the focus of my eyes, and I saw her change.

Date: 2008-07-17 05:45 pm (UTC)Some of the comments at the bottom of the page say she always turns clockwise, but I don't think so, since not ALL of them do.

Date: 2008-07-17 05:52 pm (UTC)When I opened the link, I saw a dancer going clockwise.
Then I tried to imagine her dancing anti-clockwise, but nothing changed. Then I started to read the text on the left and when I looked at the dancer again, she was dancing anti-clockwise! :-OOO

PS: the right brain/ left brain stuff is really theoretically debatable at this point. Most perception folks (like my husband) will agree it's bunk.

1 - I cannot make her go counter-clockwise.
2 - The programmer has an attention for details. He digitally rendered her nipples with accuracy.

Date: 2008-07-17 09:34 pm (UTC)Today I tried to see if I could make her change direction the way one of your earlier commenters suggested. By letting the picture go out of focus - a bit like you do to see 3D pictures - she changes every time I do it. Curious.
