Put iTunes (or an equivalent) on shuffle, take the first line from the first 20 songs and use them to make a poem. Use the first line of the 21st song as the title.

Feel free to guess what songs they are. Some of them are pretty obscure and others are hella obvious.

When You Grab Hold of Me

Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry;
He's still kickin', kickin' his shadow.
She came on like the night and she held on tight;
Watch out now, take care, beware,
how can it be permissible?

When you're weary, feeling small,
uncommon amount of the time at home.
Spotcheck Billy got down on his hands and knees--
when I think of those East End Lights,
hast Du etwas Zeit für mich?

Window walkin' downtown, feelin' mighty good;
I can hear her heartbeat from a thousand miles.
Anytime, any day, you can hear the people say,
"It could have been me, but it was you."
Fat Charlie the archangel sloped into the room

Well, some men like a woman with a beautiful body;
I don't go where you go.
She came in through the bathroom window;
I don't want somebody to love me.

Wow, I only know two of them -- the Gross & Keeley and the S&G -- and maybe one more that I can't quite place (any time, any day...), though I'm convinced I should know it.

This has been a fun meme, hasn't it?

There's a couple you'd probably get if you had a little more to work with. Lyrics are harder to recognize out of context.

Really Big Hint: The one you can't quite get is by a former Beatle. :)

And plenty of them are obscure. I mean, I've got a Partridge Family song in there. *g*

I knew that.

Also the Dave Barry.

I think you got a good poem out of all of it!

Speaking of Dave, there should be something added to this meme to come up with a pretty good name for a rock band out of the randomosity.

I knew someone would recognise the Remainders. :)

Hmm, rock band. I'll have to think about that one.

Re: Really Big Hint:

Well, I think it's Paul McCartney, and that was the only other one that I also recognized...I can hear the melody, even. But the second line isn't coming to me. *sigh*

Hi Prim! Cool "poem." I should try this in my copious spare time. Hah!

I don't know most of yours, but these are pretty obvious:

He's still kickin', kickin' his shadow.

"Kickin' His Shadow" by Paul Gross and David Keeley

When you're weary, feeling small,

Of course, that is "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel.

Window walkin' downtown, feelin' mighty good;

HAHAHAHA...I heard that one on my iPod today, on the plane coming back from guess where?

Albuquerque. :)

And it is of course the first line of: "Point Me in the Direction of Albuquerque" by The Partridge Family. Hee!

I always play it at least once when I go to Albuquerque. My kids think I am a dork.

Fat Charlie the archangel sloped into the room

"The Boy in the Bubble" by Paul Simon, from the Graceland album. One of my favorite albums ever. It got me through my divorce.

You got all of those right except the last one. It's Paul Simon, and it's from Graceland, but the song is "Crazy Love". I won't take away credit because OMG, you got the Partridge Family. :)
