This early post is brought to you by my double-time shift being cancelled, and then scheduling calling up to see if I could come in anyway after I was ALREADY BACK HOME. Which I couldn't do because I wouldn't have been able to walk after driving that much on my leg. :/

The good thing, is I get to wish [livejournal.com profile] dragonflymuse a happy birthday all early-like (early in the day, not early for her birthday). Have a lovely one, darling. :D

Now I'm off to bed. 'Night, LJ.

Aw, thank you sweetie ::hugs*hugs::

I can't believe you're still in so much pain! Haven't the docs found what's causing it? Or better yet, a pain med that will keep the soreness in check??

Maybe I will send you a cane and call you House from now on ;)

I've been to two walk-ins, they say it's almost definitely nerve pain, but I have to wait until 5/8 for my annual appointment before they decide about more tests. I'm thinking MRI, but apparently there are "factors" that make it okay with the insurance companies, and pain isn't one of them. Everything you hear about US health care? Is true.

I'm taking Vicodin (which I think is Lorcet in Canadian), and it helps some, but it makes me groggy and sick, so yay not being actually able to DO anything while I'm taking it, plus it grinds everything to a halt digestivewise. I can work okay, because I stand most of the time then, but then my feet get really tired. Ugh.

Sweetie, I wish I could wave my magic wand and make your pain go poof. Perhaps I can take your mind off it for a few minutes (or hours even?). See, I made a discovery yesterday. A huge (meaning like, wow, really really massively big) discovery. I found what can only be described as my musical soul mate. You know how it's said that when you find your soul mate, you just know? That it's like the missing part of you is found? Well. Devon England folk artist Seth Lakeman sings my soul. After one day, I am addicted. I bought everything itunes has to offer and ordered an import CD from amazon for close to forty bucks. His music stirs my blood. It's incredible. Like lots of little Beethoven's 9th's. If this country showers riches on something called a Lady GaGa, it had damn well better set the treasures of Midas at this boy's feet. Anyway, every good addict wants a friend to get high with, so I chose you because I think you'll see the talent. Here are a couple of his tunes. At worst, they'll take your mind off your owie for a little while. At best, we'll be druggie buddies. :) Enjoy, and lemme know whatcha think of the best discovery I've ever, erm, discovered.

I posted these on my journal too, but couldn't wait for you to see them!

Oh, I like these! I'm very impressed with how he can sing and play at the same time. He's got a great voice, and of course, I love the fiddle. :) Thank you, darlin'.

ETA: I've listened to some more of his stuff, and yeah, he's awesome. :) The guitar stuff reminds me of Jimmy Rankin, who I think you'd really like, also. I've posted this one before, but in case you missed it:

Ok, stop that. I can only deal with one musical obsession at a time. :) Mr. Rankin is great. I'll buy some of his stuff fer sure (including the one you posted). Fantastic.

Spread the word about Seth. I want people to know that man's name.

PS. Did you listen to "The White Hare"? I *love* that song. Of course, I've yet to find a song of his that isn't love.

Mr. Rankin is made of awesome. You will love his other work also, but his completely by-himself-with-no-band acoustic stuff is my favourite.

I don't remember which song I listened to and I'm barred from YouTube here at work(and also Facebook, but not Twitter or LJ, go figure). I'll check when I finally get home (which will likely be Monday secondary to rikkafrakka car trouble).
