I have issues with being out in the sun for long periods of time (to the point of passing out), so I don't really get the whole, hey, it's really hot, let's go sit under that hothot sun for hours! stuff.

Oooh, niiice. Usually when I think of "the beach" I think of the ocean. Probably because I live in the Ocean State. ;)

Same here. I have a hard time regulating my core temperature when it's too hot, so I mostly want to lie in a cold bath or in an air conditioned room, or both. I get very, very cranky and then pass out if I'm in the sun for too long!

When I was twelve I was riding my bike in hot weather and pretty much faceplanted onto some woman's lawn. She came out and gave me water. I don't remember exactly what happened next, but it probably involved a parent and lots of concerned tsk-ing. :)

If there is a greater "WTF!!" behavior, I don't know what it is. I begin to melt after the mercury climbs above 80 degrees, and with my pale, northern European/Celtic, rosacea-prone skin, if I was Vercingetorix and the sun was Gaius Julius Caesar, we couldn't be more opposed.

I knew you didn't do well in the sun, but I thought you were a fan of the hot.

I'm SO not a fan of the hot. I'm not a fan of the freezing cold, either (my favourite times of year are mid-to-late-spring and early-to-mid-autumn). I basically hate extremes of temperatures across the board, and should probably move to Australia or something. :)
