You guys know I'm interested, yes? (The main thing that might stop me is that if I fly long-distance, I get major guilt over the environmental effects. /o\)

My main drawback as a traveling partner: I have no driving licence.

My advantages: I give good backrubs. Also, I will talk endlessly about botany (heh, or maybe that's a drawback).

Are you guys thinking next summer? And where would you start from? How long time do you estimate it would take?

We haven't talked extensively about it yet; I'm hoping to go at least into part of the autumn so I can maybe see the Northern Lights. Next year is a definite possibility. Not sure of where we'd start from exactly, but I want to do all of the Dempster. It'd be nice to start in the US, also, depending on time.

I want to hear all about the plants along the way, so it's all good (I think I may fall completely in love with purple saxifrage). I also heart backrubs, as my back and I don't always get along.

Maybe you could do some carbon offset kind of thing to lessen our guilt?

Augh, had written reply, but then my browser crashed and I lost the tab and forgot to write a new one. Anyway.

Next year's job situation is somewhat unsure at the moment. If I get teaching in the fall, it'll be hard to get time off after the first of September. But there's also a chance that I'll have full-time research, in which case I can take my vacation whenever I want. Annnnd there's also a chance I'll be unemployed, in which case I will happily be out traveling. I'll keep you updated.

Also, there's some darkness at night in August, at least, so you'd have a chance at the northern lights then.
