In other news, it took the death of singer Elliot Smith for me to discover a.) that he even existed, and b.) that he made some very, very lovely music. It's sad that his death is what introduced me to his music.

Sometimes I think that "zero tolerance" is just short-hand for "zero ability to assess and respond to complex situations and circumstances in a manner that is fair to all involved."
