will the things we wrote today sound as good tomorrow?

[livejournal.com profile] croosa just linked me to this wonderful thing. Dude. It's actually written by the guys who created TMNT. It's gotta be good.

Trailer here.

I'm waay too excited about this. I wonder if [livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by knows about it.

Also? [livejournal.com profile] i_am_a_hannah called me last night from a Rolling Stones Concert, just to tell me she was there. She didn't get to see much, because she was doing something for Habitat for Humanity. But it was cool that she called. Does she know her mum or not?

My first question: Did they do "Paint It Black"? Because, well. Of course I'd ask that.

I hope they played Memory Motel, because it's all "Hannah baby was a honey of a girl". Which of course, she is. *loves* And of course, if they played it, it'd be without the coolness of the Dave Matthews Factor. :/

Oh, and. [livejournal.com profile] on_a_hill is getting a "music of your life" CD exchange together. I am very excited, but OMG. ONE CD? I'll need more than one. The Ten Songs That Mean The Most To Me In The Entire Universe take up one CD. *angsts*

Oh, and #2. Speaking of said Ten Songs, I've been thinking about what my favourite song is, because I've never really had one single favourite song. If I have to pick one, I really think it's Writing. And gee, it only took me thirty a few measley years to figure that one out. 'Course, it's best with the two songs that come after it, but on its own, yeah. I think it's my favourite. Of course, you needed to know that, right?

Ah, the heck with it. Here's the entire album:

Elton John and Bernie Taupin - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy (1975)

Just leave the last three songs off when you listen. They're just tacked-on songs that I don't understand. Not part of the original album. Save 'em for later, because they're still cool. They're just not part of the Saga.

This dorky post was brought to you by [livejournal.com profile] croosa and [livejournal.com profile] i_am_a_hannah, who rock my world, truly.

Going now. *geeks out, stage left*

Also, [livejournal.com profile] sam80853 and [livejournal.com profile] stormymouse, you should friend [livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by, because he speaks fluent German (three months immersion in Germany will do that to a person) and would love to talk to someone to keep his fluency up. He's seventeen and very smart and (mostly) harmless. *g*

Also also, I want to buy this, but it is very expensive. Talk me out of it. Or into it. Am indecisive. And really too broke to spend this much money.

Also GIP!. See Letter Number Two, under the cut.

Okay, going to sleep before I throw up or pass out. Ick. I should be able to get five or six hours before work. *sigh*

*waves* G'night, all. Or morning. Something. *staggers off to bed*

I stayed up late sticking pins into a myself again

Well, a little over an hour's sleep plus the two hours last night? Yeah, I'm good to go. Or not.

Anyway, since I'm up and not completely dead anymore:

From the [livejournal.com profile] altfriday5 (there's an ALTERNATIVE Friday 5, how cool is that?):

1. Who was the last new friend that you made? In RL? Believe it or not, probably [livejournal.com profile] patchfire, and that was what, almost four years ago?

2. How often do you make new friends?

Not very often. I make friends like I fall in love: As I go and completely devoted. *g* I'm actually a pretty good friend.

3. How do you usually meet new friends?

Randomly, like I get new books or fandoms or music. This isn't a bad thing, mind you. Of the handful of those who are my Very Close RL FriendsTM, hmm. I met Linda at church, I've known Karen since I was fifteen, but we only became friends after we were older. Sandra was a teacher at [livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by's school (Look! That's [livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by when he was very wee and ickle in the striped shirt near "Frequently Asked Questions"). She still teaches there, but he goes to school here these days. And [livejournal.com profile] patchfire, I met online and was pleased to learn wasn't an axe murderer. Which means my axes are safe.

Oh, and I completely consider [livejournal.com profile] peacey a RL friend, even though we've never laid eyes on each other in RL. I've known Missy through email, snailmail, IM, and LJ for seven years. Hopefully we'll get to meet up soon (and go to Toronto! And point at traffic!). I love her a lot, and she'd better know it.

And of course, [livejournal.com profile] songdog. She's like [livejournal.com profile] patchfire in reverse: She's not just family, she's one of my best friends. Although you wouldn't have thought it could happen when I was eight and she was twelve. *g* I met her by being born. She was there first. <3<3.

4. How easy you find it to make new friends? How easy did you find it to make new friends as a child?
It's amazingly easy and not easy at all. I never set out to make friends (although when I was six I knocked on doors in my new neighbourhood and asked if they had any kids and could they come out and play), but when I do make them, they're always either good friends or I consider them acquaintances. The word "friend" means a lot to me, and I don't use it lightly.

I didn't make friends well as a child. I was pretty much a social outcast, what with the undiagnosed ADD that nobody knew about then, plus the fact that I wasn't socialised well (I wasn't allowed leave my own yard until I was eleven, and even then I could only go about a quarter-mile in either direction). I did much better in high school, when I inherited some wonderful friends from [livejournal.com profile] songdog who were as weird as I was.

5. Have you ever made a new friend online? If yes, tell us about a memorable instance. The actual meetings aren't all that memorable, I guess, but the friends are. [livejournal.com profile] patchfire and I met through HP fandom. She's not just a friend, she's family. And she gave me one of the finest, most wonderful gifts ever: I got to be a tiny part of helping the lovely and talented Jacob into this strange and wonderful world.

I (virtually) met [livejournal.com profile] peacey through another online friend who sort of went "poof" and was never seen again. This disappearing friend introduced us (before disappearing, of course), and we got on immediately. We may be the Schreiber and Schwarzenegger of the interwebz (although it's not as bad as all that, and I doubt I'd be friends, let alone MARRIED to Ahhhnold), but we love each other a lot. She's been there for me when I was a sobbing mass of Jello, and I hope I've been able to do the same for her. *loves, loves, loves* She needs to open up her LJ more, though, and flock her writing, so others can see how cool and lovely she is. She's got a brain and she knows how to use it.
