Someday I'm going to post something of relative import again. Until then, another annoying post of a video that I didn't make.

I like this vid so much that I even forgave the vidder for completely leaving out a Benny.

Back to radiosilence tonight. I may NEVER catch up.

Yes, I'm spamming, I know, but OMGOMGOMG.

Now I have to stop stalling and get myself a Rocket membership so I can see this.

Bernie, darling, how much do I love you? THERE ARE NO NUMBERS HIGH ENOUGH TO MEASURE. *hugs the stuffing out of him*

Also, apparently, Elton is touring Canada and then AUSTRALIA before coming to the U.S. Because Oz is obviously SO MUCH CLOSER TO CANADA THAN WE ARE. *sigh* I do love you, dear, but it makes no sense. At least to me. People in Oz will be thrilled, so at least that's good. :)

A few months ago, [livejournal.com profile] songdog played this song for me. It took me a bit to get who was singing it because I wasn't even thinking in that direction, but when I figured it out, I did my best impression of a human flycatcher. Because oh, my, if this isn't a little miracle:

Elton John - Bridge Over Troubled Water

It sounds like a demo, with strings that may or may not be Paul Buckmaster's. [livejournal.com profile] eltonroo, do you know where and when this was recorded? It sounds old, very old, which means it was recorded by baby!Elton.

another, cooler two words meme )

Now I shall go to bed because I'm going to Block Island and I'm already going to be running on not enough sleep. *waves*

[livejournal.com profile] croosa just linked me to this wonderful thing. Dude. It's actually written by the guys who created TMNT. It's gotta be good.

Trailer here.

I'm waay too excited about this. I wonder if [livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by knows about it.

Also? [livejournal.com profile] i_am_a_hannah called me last night from a Rolling Stones Concert, just to tell me she was there. She didn't get to see much, because she was doing something for Habitat for Humanity. But it was cool that she called. Does she know her mum or not?

My first question: Did they do "Paint It Black"? Because, well. Of course I'd ask that.

I hope they played Memory Motel, because it's all "Hannah baby was a honey of a girl". Which of course, she is. *loves* And of course, if they played it, it'd be without the coolness of the Dave Matthews Factor. :/

Oh, and. [livejournal.com profile] on_a_hill is getting a "music of your life" CD exchange together. I am very excited, but OMG. ONE CD? I'll need more than one. The Ten Songs That Mean The Most To Me In The Entire Universe take up one CD. *angsts*

Oh, and #2. Speaking of said Ten Songs, I've been thinking about what my favourite song is, because I've never really had one single favourite song. If I have to pick one, I really think it's Writing. And gee, it only took me thirty a few measley years to figure that one out. 'Course, it's best with the two songs that come after it, but on its own, yeah. I think it's my favourite. Of course, you needed to know that, right?

Ah, the heck with it. Here's the entire album:

Elton John and Bernie Taupin - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy (1975)

Just leave the last three songs off when you listen. They're just tacked-on songs that I don't understand. Not part of the original album. Save 'em for later, because they're still cool. They're just not part of the Saga.

This dorky post was brought to you by [livejournal.com profile] croosa and [livejournal.com profile] i_am_a_hannah, who rock my world, truly.

Going now. *geeks out, stage left*

Oh. Ohhh. OMG.

Any reaction I have to this will be sadly inadequate. All I can say is, [livejournal.com profile] eltonroo, you were right. I love it. To the point of being incoherent.

I was going to post a song-by-song review, but I can't come up with anything that would adequately convey my thoughts at this point.

Just. It's everything and more that I expected. And given the place in my own life I'm listening from, it's perfect. Undeniably, incredibly perfect.

And ohh. Yes.

Oh, my loves, my forever-and-a-day OTP, what you've wrought. I was apprehensive, then optimistic, and when I finally had the CD in hand and the lyrics alone made me want to cry, I was overwhelmed. Now, after listening, I'm left weak and wibbly and encouraged. My on-the-spot reactions were basically, Oh, Jesus and Fuck, yes. Entirely, completely, yes.

Tomorrow I'll post a more coherent review. Maybe. Right now I don't know what I could possibly say.

Tonight, I can do no more than send out inarticulate gratitude. In spades, as usual. How you've changed me, the both of you, in these thirtysome years. How you still do, so you do, so, so you do.

Oh, my Twins, you've been with me for so very long. I have nothing to say right now except to agree with Dar Williams: you're aging well, and aren't we aging well? So much, so yes. I aspire to do the same.

All my weepy fangirlishness is a very good thing. You done good, kids. *throws self at your feet*

I adore you both, so, so much.

Live forever, okay?
