Attack of the Bullet List

- Imeem is like YouTube, only cooler.
Exhibit A: Best XF Vid Ever. Song choice ftw! - Am behind on
ds_aprilfools due to temporary writers block meets RL. Will have to post several things at once, alas.
- I missed
bjohan57's birthday, mostly because she doesn't put it in her profile, and also
muskratjamboree. She wants picspam as penance/present. Or I could write something, if my block goes away soon.
- Sent
peacey the dS pilot. I love being a crack dealer.
- I'm really going to work on learning to vid, because the ideas in my head won't go away.
- Speaking about vidding: last weekend
omphale23 introduced me to WWI Fanvids. No, I am not lying. Look for yourself. Of course, they're called "tributes", not fanvids, but they're identical in form and techniques. It's vaguely disturbing but the weird thing is that it's impossible to look away.
- Germany has a Complaints Choir, whee! I've been waiting for this.
- Work for the next three days. I don't do Easter, but I would have liked to have been with the kids. *sigh*
mickeymvt is going to co-author a story with me. I've never done that. We should chat soon, dear.
eltonroo!
mr_t00by and I will be going to see the Sox play the Jays at Fenway July 14 (
mr_t00by's birthday). I'll be thinking of you the whole time the Jays are getting their arses kicked. It's the least I can do for such a nice guy. :)
- More later. I'm in a bullet lists kinda mood. :)

Date: 2007-04-07 07:42 pm (UTC)No kidding. I listened twice. Very nice.
LOL on the German complaints choir. I first saw the Helsinki one just a week or two ago:
My favourite: "ring tones are all irritating". LOL!
They're much more depressed than the Germans; lack of daylight will do that. ;)
Go Jays! *waves flag*

I have nothing against the Jays (or any other team that's not the Yankees *g*) unless they're up against my Red Sox. Then it's personal. :)

Date: 2007-04-08 12:33 am (UTC)Thanks for the link to the Canuck version. It's good; but too professional, if you know what I mean. Too Toronto. The Helsinki one was great because they didn't seem too polished. At the other end of the spectrum, I saw the Birmingham complaints song. Total amateurs, but they have so much fun!

Date: 2007-04-08 01:09 am (UTC)I think the US and Canada should do regional ones, anyway, because what a California person would complain about isn't what I would, and you're not likely to complain about snow removal in Moncton. I mean not unless snow removal is your main cause, or something.
Me, I'd write something like:
"There are no street signs in Providence
because people just think everyone lives there.
I can't buy my milk and bread
When the forecast calls for a flurry."

Date: 2007-04-08 03:29 pm (UTC)You may not have noticed but Frank Thomas aka "The Big Hurt" hit a grand slam homer last night to propel the Jays to victory over the mighty Tampa Bay Lightning. Just think what he will do at Fenway Park. Balls will be flying over the Green Monster on July 14!! Go Jays!! Go Canada!!
*stands and sings "there she was just-a walkin' down the street.."
Date: 2007-04-09 09:42 am (UTC)We shall see.
I actually like the Jays, just not when they play the Sox. And it's not about countries, it's about my devout fannishness. Last time I looked, I didn't hate Canada, so I promise to show due respect by standing and singing the national anthem. At least I can hit the high notes on yours. :) (And anyway, I've always thought that the US National Anthem should be changed to Manfred Mann's "Do Wah Diddy", because that would just be cool as heck. Enough with bombs bursting in air, already)
Re: *stands and sings "there she was just-a walkin' down the street.."
Date: 2007-04-09 02:43 pm (UTC)As for Canada's, I think it should be changed to "Snow Queen" in light of our climate and our British heritage...
Re: *stands and sings "there she was just-a walkin' down the street.."
Date: 2007-04-09 03:16 pm (UTC)I can see it now, hundreds of crazed hockey fans singing "a wardrobe of gowns, TV, rings, fragile waist, and a maid..."

Date: 2007-04-09 09:54 am (UTC)I love how my spell check recognizes "Inuit" but not "Inuvik" or Inuktitut. :)

Date: 2007-04-09 08:37 pm (UTC)Well I'm always after Gus Knickle fics if you are in the mood (is anyone ever in the mood for that apart from me, I wonder?) or...if you know how to rip MP3s from an avi video file, then you could share that information also as your penance. I want to 'isolate' the final credit music/theme from Buried on Sunday. Because I am just that geeky. :-)

Date: 2007-04-10 02:54 am (UTC)You have to get a converter to rip mp3s from video (I've done it with a free trial on something, but I forget what it was). I'll ask
