This is Michael.

He's unnaturally pretty a soldier with the Canadian Corps:

This is Sarah. She's a nurse:

Eventually they fall in love:

Sometimes they just sit together and watch Alberta be pretty:




But all is not bliss, because there's this war going on:




Canada is fighting in the war:




...and Michael is a loyal Canadian soldier:




Even so, Michael doesn't want to leave:

Inevitably, Michael goes off to Belgium to fight with the Canadians:












...at Passchendaele, where there are cannons, and it rains and rains and rains and rains, and there is mud:









Michael gets quite muddy:










...not to mention drenched:










For reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, Sarah visits Michael at the front lines:








He's plenty glad to see her:




...and she seems to stay for a while:





...but alas, we won't know if their love will triumph until the fall.

Paul is pretty! (duh) I adore the smile in the fourth one down and that last one under muddy where he's just such a gorgeous mess And Jaye from Wonderfalls! I always forget that she is in this and she is also pretty. So far this movie is getting full marks in pretty points. Which, yay.

She is very pretty. Alberta is veryvery pretty. Passchendaele is pretty muddy, which isn't so pretty, but since Paul is preternaturally pretty the pretty points get to stay.

The WHEN is sometime this fall. It was supposed to be Remembrance Day (Nov. 11), but I've heard rumours that it's been moved up to some time around Thanksgiving (Oct. 13 this year in Canada).

I'm sure it'll be available on DVD, anyway.

I'm actually going to see it when it comes to theatres in Canada, but even then I'll still have to wait for the DVD. *angsts*
