My older team is going to be playing in Innerkip, which is roughly in the neighbourhood (very roughly) around that time. Are you driving? Want to come out and watch a women's fastpitch team compete? Just for you, they're red! (My younger team is black and orange.) Thurs July 26 - Sun July 29.

I don't know what I'm doing yet, because I'm going with [livejournal.com profile] peacey and her sister. I'd love to do that if I can, though.

I'm not sure if I'm driving; I'd really rather drive, but I'm going via Michigan, so it's still up in the air. :)

I'm all about travelling these days. I'm sick to death of Rhode Island and need to Get away. Now that I've found out how cheap hostels are, I plan on doing it more often. I might even get out your way next year, depending on airfare rates. Whee!

That would be wonderful. :-)

Just don't try to fly into my local airport (McKinleyville) because it'll break the bank -- adds several hundred dollars to a round trip ticket. If/when the time comes, look at flights into Oakland or San Francisco, and I'll drive down and get you.

I have this fantasy about taking the train across the country from Providence or Boston to California, but it's so time-sucking and costly I probably will never do it. And then there's my OTHER fantasy about doing the same thing in Canada. Although renting a car and driving the Trans-Canada would be fun, too, and probably cheaper. Woe, why can't I be independently wealthy?

Oh, yay! What fun! I'm looking forward to reading about it, since that's the closest I'll get to Stratford this year. *sigh*

It's very exciting. I get to go to Stratford and visit with [livejournal.com profile] peacey all at the same time. :) Not that the OTHER Stratford wouldn't be hella cool.

OMG!!!!! YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

And girly, you got better tickets than we did! We're in Orchestra Row G, Seats 35 & 36. Awesome, dudette!

This has been a crazed week with my Grandma being sent to a rehab facility and tons more ugly business, not to mention the fact that we're leaving for Vegas on Friday and I haven't even considered what I'm packing, but as soon as I get back, I'm going to look into Fun Stuff to do in Stratford.

Are we meeting there or am I coming to Michigan first? I think a drive out to MI would take a while, and I think I'd like to have my car. Hmm. I'd like to stay on for a few days and do some sightseeing, and I really, really want to spend a day in Ottawa. The first stop on the World Capitals Tour. Well, the second, actually, because [livejournal.com profile] patchfire and I will be in DC next month. :)

First of all, sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but I was in Vegas, baby. :) And a fun time was had by all...

Meeting in Stratford would be fine. Cher and I will be getting there sometime on July 25. As the date gets closer, we can coordinate exactly when and decide on some fun things to do. Keep in mind that we're staying in London because the hotels are much more reasonably priced. Next time I talk to you, I'll tell you exactly where we'll be.

I've been looking into hostels, which are a LOT cheaper than hotels, and I found a couple in London that I thought you might want to look at. I mean, check out these prices:

Western Bed and Breakfast at the University of Western Ontario: $38.50 CDN (about $35 USD)/night (not including GST and PST, but I think we can get those back). $52 CDN (about $46 USD)/night if we want breakfast and cleaning services.

ACBB Accomodations London looks even better, and it has a kitchen so we can cook and save money. It's $29.50 USD for a shared three-bed private room. I like the looks of this one. :)

I can look for more. There's one in Stratford, but it seems to be just doubles and it's more expensive, relatively. I don't mind the drive, anyway. Ironically, London is the only place in Ontario where I've ever spent actual time (unless I count my memory of being in the CN tower despite having never been to Toronto in my life). I was fourteen at the time and don't remember much of my experience except that I thought the money was cool and that cigarettes came in flat boxes, which I also thought was cool.
